Commercial Millwork Estimator

St. Germain’s Cabinet is seeking an experienced Commercial Millwork Estimator to join our team.

We are specifically looking for someone with experience estimating commercial architectural casework, millwork, countertops, and related scopes.  The ideal candidate understands our industry and can independently review architectural plans and specifications, complete accurate takeoffs, and prepare competitive commercial bids.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES (duties include but are not limited to):

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
  • Perform detailed takeoffs for commercial casework, architectural millwork, countertops, and related scopes.
  • Develop accurate material, labor, fabrication, installation, and subcontractor costs.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Identify scope requirements, exclusions, alternates, and potential project risks.
  • Prepare and submit complete bid proposals.
  • Communicate with general contractors regarding project scope and bid requirements.
  • Assist with value engineering and alternate solutions.
  • Manage multiple bids and deadlines.
  • Work closely with project management, engineering, purchasing, production, and installation.
  • Provide a thorough handoff of awarded projects to the project management team.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of commercial casework or architectural millwork estimating experience preferred.
  • Experience estimating commercial countertops, including laminate, solid surface, quartz, and stone, is a plus.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of commercial casework construction, materials, hardware, fabrication, and installation.
  • Understanding of labor and production costs associated with commercial millwork.
  • Strong computer and estimating skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple bids and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of AWI standards is a plus.

• Ability to visit job sites to evaluate estimating accuracy
• Ability to analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation
• Advanced data analysis skills
• Strong aptitude for construction cost estimation

Minimal travel is expected for this position

Compensation & Benefits

$65,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Compensation will be based on the candidate’s commercial millwork estimating experience, industry knowledge, and ability to independently manage projects.
