WAREHOUSE / DELIVERY DRIVER

SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Warehouse/Delivery Driver is primarily responsible for transporting orders/merchandise over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles; and loading and unloading merchandise. The Delivery Driver reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES (duties include but are not limited to:
- Delivers/transports a variety of items (cabinets, etc.) to recipients for the purpose of distributing items from internal or external sources over scheduled and/or unscheduled routes
- Drives vehicles (e.g., truck, van, etc.) for the purpose of transporting orders and materials to designated sites, ensuring the priority lists are adhered to
- Maintains vehicles (e.g., checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle
- Maintains records (e.g., delivery log, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and providing reliable resource information
- Conducts daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of delivery shift and reports any problems or damage to management
- Loads and unloads merchandise from trucks, ensuring the loads are properly stacked and safely secured
- Notifies management of any discrepancies or damage
- Assists with the distribution of items received, when needed
- Follows all safety and OSHA standards and ensures a safe working environment
- Attends departmental meetings as required
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Two (2) years’ experience as a delivery driver

- Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug test and background check
- Possess a valid driver’s license, with clean driving record
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Able to effectively communicate with co-workers and management staff
- Able to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to meet deadlines and schedules and set priorities
- Must be dependable, honest, and self-motivated

- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
